We were just looking for information before booking our January 2027 stay on Sanibel Island, so we dropped by Island Inn on a whim. Ken was very gracious, talked us through the resort, and even showed us around the rooms. He did a fantastic job, and now we can't wait to spend time there.

When we heard Island Inn had reopened after Hurricane Ian destroyed the property in 2022, we knew we wanted to return. We first stayed there in 2018 and loved it, so we hoped the new visit would feel as good as the old one. Our November '25 trip was amazing. The new rooms keep the old Island charm while feeling much more modern. Our Kingbed room had loads of space, and the building layout seemed to give every unit AMAZING views. We had neighbors with young kids, but never heard them. The sturdy new construction and soundproofing made a real difference. Some of the grounds were still unfinished, and the pool wasn't open yet because those areas were under construction. Still, the choices and quality in the rooms make us think the finished property will be exceptional. We'd like to return, hopefully with more of our family next time.

We had a peaceful stay in a Starky Lodge suite, with a screened private patio opening toward the ocean and private beach. The layout was handy too, with a front door to the parking area and deck, plus a big sliding door at the back. The room was clean and convenient, and smelled fresh without seeming covered up with air freshener. The kitchenette had what we needed, including a full-size stove and fridge, microwave, tea kettle, and coffee pot. There was even a broom and dustpan for the sand, along with a shell washing station and outdoor shower by each building. I did spot some hair on the shower wall, though the rest of it looked cleaned. That's my one complaint. I'd come back.

The beach access was private, and you could step straight from the back door onto the sand. There were shells everywhere, more than I've ever seen. The service was great too, with knowledgeable, helpful staff who answered questions and took care of what we needed. I absolutely loved the place and would recommend staying here.
