There’s no coffee in the room, and a little more soap for the shower would’ve helped. The showers were good and the beds comfortable, though, and I’d stay again if I were on the east side of the park. It’s basic lodging, as expected, just a few miles from Yellowstone. Restaurants in town are an easy walk. Wi-Fi was very spotty.

Cooke City is a very cool town, and in my opinion the nicest part of Yellowstone is right at its gateway. The cabins are beautiful, and Kay and her staff are fabulous. Kay goes out of her way to make guests feel welcome and accommodate them. We stayed in May on our way to Alaska, then again in September on the way back to NY. She welcomed all of us traveling together both times. Thanks, Kay. See you on our way out next year! Tim, Kim, Hannah, Murphy, Jed, Tom, Betty, Marilyn, Gale, Annie, Christine & Steve!

For a group of guys who don’t care about the frills, this might be a great fit. The cabin was pretty rough, but mostly functional, and $250 a night felt excessive, even if I guess the mountains make things expensive. The heater warmed the whole place in 20 minutes, and the fridge and coffee maker both worked. The shower was disappointing.

The cabins are quaint and comfortable, and I especially loved sleeping in the loft. I’ve stayed here twice over the last 25 years. If I visit the area again, I’ll stay at the Antler’s Lodge. You can walk to everything nearby.

The front desk woman was very welcoming, and we were glad they had a room free so we could stay the night. We found a couple of hairs in the bed, perhaps left there while it was being made, but the sheets themselves were clean. The room was good, and I’d stay here again.
