Best Western Holiday Hotel

We spent the night at Best Western Holiday Hotel while passing through Coos Bay and had a pleasant stay. It was clean, comfortable, and well kept, with friendly, welcoming people throughout. In this cute little town, it felt like an easy, dependable place to get some rest. A solid option if you need somewhere comfortable for a stopover.

Within five minutes of checking in, I spotted four bugs. There was a large spider on the doorframe, which I was fine with killing, but then we found small bugs on both beds. I showed the front desk woman with white hair the photos I'd taken, but she refused to look at them or let me document anything else. She said, “that’s hard to believe,” then yelled that she was refusing me service. This was the worst customer service interaction I've had at a Best Western or any hotel. I'm still stunned she yelled at me for reporting bugs, especially given the other bad reviews.

Breakfast was delicious, and those mini waffles were GAS! The room smelled musty, and the shampoo didn't do a great job on my hair. Thanks for the stay! 👍 Ryan Trehan inspired review!

The room felt tiny, like a budget hotel, even though it had a desk chair and a small sofa. Noise came through from the busy street and next door, with thin walls. At night I felt unsafe enough that we put chairs and a table by the door while we slept :)) The bathroom door hook was so high that a tiny Asian woman like me couldn't reach it, lol. I was also told they won't provide makeup remover anymore, though I think they should keep that amenity for women. The location was handy, a few minutes from the boardwalk, downtown, and some good restaurants. The staff were nice, especially the two girls on the first night's night shift, who smiled and were helpful. Breakfast was the same both days, with two hot items, boiled eggs, instant oatmeal, and other good choices. The only fruit was a red apple that wasn't very fresh.
