The New Terrace Hotel

We’ve stayed at the Terrace for a long time, and the current manager does a phenomenal job running the place. Vacancies are rare, but I’d recommend it to anyone looking for an open minded place to stay awhile at a reasonable price. Extended stays and month to month leases are the norm here. Our room is roomy, cozy, and well ventilated. The walls are paper thin, which seems common in a lot of hotels, but our neighbors are courteous and management is almost always available when we need help. We’ve been here long enough to experience some chaotic and odd circumstances, though I think that comes with the location.

I waited in the lobby for about 20 minutes to get a room, then booked one up the street through Bookings.com instead. As I was leaving, a woman finally came to the door and made a snarky remark. She was very rude. The place looks sketchy, and the staff were rude too. I’d avoid it.

I spent three weeks there and never worried about the safety of my room or parked car. The staff were really nice and accommodating, and it’s handy having Fred Meyers across the street for a longer stay. It’s a motel, so don’t expect anything fancy. The rooms are comfortable and fairly nice, though neither large nor luxurious. They were clean, and I never saw bugs, but only by motel standards. There was some dust and dirt in the corners and the renovation work looked pretty amateur. Still, I’d recommend it to anyone after a cheap room.

It feels like a dive hotel, about as run down as any dive bar in town. The recent renovations haven’t really improved the rooms. They just slapped paint on the walls and called it renovated. That seems a bit shady to me, and since you asked, that’s my review.
