Super 8 Motel Rapid City/Rushmore Rd.

I’d just moved to town and worried the low price meant I’d end up with a bad room. I was wrong. The front desk person was quick and friendly, and the room was very clean, without any bad smell or dirt in sight. After a long, hard day, the shower was exactly what I needed: spotless and really hot. At such a great price, I’d recommend this place any day.

I only needed a room for the night because my father had been rushed to the emergency room from Deadwood. After spending three days in the car, I finally got a room, then woke to my dog in protection mode because staff were removing my door's security lock. They said a man had called and couldn't reach me. I had a protection order against him. Management then said they needed to see me visibly. I was exhausted, and when I called for information, they hung up on me and wouldn't explain anything.

Dust covered the walls, the room smelled, and bugs were flying around. There was something like a small wasp nest on the ceiling, the bathroom exhaust fan was rusty and left open, and the sheet had stains. The rooms weren't clean, and there were odd-looking people around, so I wouldn't bring a family here. Breakfast was a joke, just some oats and cereal bars. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone; it deserves no rating.

The place was dirty, and the TV was barely attached to the wall. They charged me an extra $100 in smoking fees, even though I didn't smoke enough to justify it and all the rooms are marked non-smoking. Then they gave me some change-of-ownership story and refused to refund the charge. Poor service. These people are crooks.
