South Bay Motel

I called to ask about a room for myself for a night or two, just to get away from a nagging spouse. The man asked how many people, and I said just me. He quoted $110 a night, which seemed reasonable, then started repeating that he wasn't sure and slammed the phone down. I called back and said he'd hung up on me. He went back to saying he wasn't sure. I asked if I could make a reservation, or come in person to reserve and check in, and got the same answer before he hung up again. Readers can decide what to make of it. I can't spend another second trying to figure out what just happened! 🥴

This could be a nice hotel if it were maintained properly. The rooms have bedbugs in them, and most of them do, according to what I saw. Some rooms facing the water have jacuzzis, but those could have been nice rooms if the jacuzzis worked. There were bedbugs along the sides, the rooms were broken down and disgusting, and the linen wasn't changed. The stay wasn't pleasant at all, though it's cheap if that's what you're after.

When my family and I stayed in May, the rooms were fairly clean and, thankfully, there were no bugs. We did notice some stains on the curtains and bathroom curtains. One of our keycards wouldn't open the door, but the manager was incredibly kind and helped us get in. He went above and beyond to make us comfortable. The rooms were mediocre, with a TV and various channels, a shower, fridge, microwave, and two beds, but the management and room service were amazing.

The place was disgusting, and the front desk was rude. The heat and AC didn't work, and all the sheets were dirty. They wouldn't refund or discount the room, and didn't offer us another one. DO NOT GO THERE!!!
