Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott Dallas DFW Airport North/Coppell Grapevine

The free airport shuttle was a huge help during my very short layover. It was quick and ran every 30 minutes, 24 hours a day. I only wish I’d had more time to stay and enjoy the included breakfast. This was the best hotel room I’ve seen in several years. It was extremely clean, with a lovely walk-in shower, rich wallpaper, and a counter bureau just the right size to open a carry-on suitcase on. There were lots of wall hooks in both the bedroom and bathroom, which I appreciate since hotel rooms often have too few or none.

The shuttle was quick and efficient for the roughly 12 to 15 minute ride to the hotel and back in the morning. Staff were pleasant and helpful, breakfast was included with the usual choices, and the bed and bedding were comfortable. The place looks brand new, though they’re charging a premium for a mid-tier hotel. The room has an odd layout and thin walls, so highway traffic and neighbors carry through. The shower drain is an unusual four-inch-wide metal-topped channel that sounds like a steel drum when water hits it. The rooms seem designed to look impressive and take a lot of wear over the long term.

I travel to Texas a lot for business and am an OTR driver, and this is one of the best hotels I’ve stayed at. Christopher gave me a nice, warm welcome. The room was clean enough that I didn’t need to go back and clean anything, and the bed was comfortable. The key card system is up to date and worked without a hitch. I liked the modern fixtures and furnishings, strong shower pressure, and WiFi that actually worked, so I wasn’t missing loads. They even have an indoor pool that’s really open, unlike so many places that advertise one and then keep it closed. This is definitely my go-to when I’m working in the DFW area. You can’t go wrong with it!

After our international flight, Chris at the front desk was so helpful that my family and I decided to stay here instead of the hotel next door. I’d called that other place several times to ask about booking a room and shuttle, but no one answered. I’d assumed they were sister properties under the same management, but was told they aren’t. Mr. Adam, the airport shuttle driver, also gave us great service. The breakfast staff deserves a mention too. They didn’t rush latecomers, including my jetlagged wife and daughter, who slept in a bit. The rooms were tidy and fairly new. I’d stay here again if the pricing is the same.
