Gateway Hotel, Trademark Collection by Wyndham

The room was spacious, nicely decorated, and had a door at the back leading straight to the car park, which made unloading our bags simple. We also enjoyed the outdoor pool, though the water was a bit cold, and found plenty of restaurants around the square. The setting felt surreal, almost like something from the "Truman Show". We stopped for one night on our drive from LA to SF through the National Parks, at the end of a three-week California and Hawaiian Islands trip. It was a great place to finish our vacation.

There’s an outdoor pool and hot tub, along with a gym, in a separate building across the parking lot. The rooms are comfortable, though some may feel quite small. A good place to stay when visiting Copperopolis.

It was my first time in the area, and I was pleasantly surprised. There’s a pizza place and BBQ within walking distance, and the hotel was more than I expected.

The employees were nice, but the business practices felt sketchy to me. I’ve stayed at over 100 hotels and never had a $100 room deposit put into my account. They didn’t mention the $100 seven-day deposit until I arrived, so I hadn’t budgeted for it and didn’t have enough money left for food. I’d already paid $150 and couldn’t get that refunded. Please list the deposit in the room description when people book, instead of waiting until they show up.
