Best Western Corbin Inn

The shower had good pressure and plenty of hot water, and breakfast was free and good. I slept well on the comfortable bed with good pillows. The room was very clean, recently updated, and had a mini fridge, microwave, and lots of toiletries, including mouthwash and lotion. The woman at check in was very nice. I was stopping for a night's rest on a long road trip and expected a typical old motel room, but this place was better than average, even if it's not fancy. I wear earplugs, so I can't really say how quiet it is, though it didn't seem especially noisy when I went to bed.

At checkout, I found they'd charged the pet fee twice. We had told them about our pet when we arrived and agreed to the usual fee. Earlier, we'd booked a king room online, but there was no indication during booking that a first floor room cost extra. My wife can't manage stairs and the hotel has no elevator, so we asked for a first floor room and had no real choice but to accept the extra charge on our prepaid booking. Then we walked into a queen room instead of the king we'd booked. The front desk clerk was rude, and I didn't feel like arguing. This feels like a string of nickel and dime cash grabs, which is very disappointing and says a lot about how this franchise is managed. I'm sure corporate BW would want to hear about these practices. I'll update after they reply to my email.

We stayed here to shorten the second leg of our trip and had a great night. Since our small dog barks when she hears people through the walls, a quiet room matters to us. The sliding barn door in the bathroom was cute and kept the door noise down during the night. The bed felt supportive without being hard, and the pillows didn't go flat or feel stiff. The TV was big with a clear picture. My one small gripe is the remote, lol, it wasn't my favorite. My favorite part was getting a call from the front desk to see if we needed anything. It made me feel valued. We've stayed at three Best Western hotels in three different states, and the employees have been great each time. Their customer service has made us Best Western customers. Thanks for taking the time to care. We'd stay here again, and probably will.

The rooms were clean and very nice, the location was perfect, and the pillows could use an update. My only real issue was the front desk manager. Mr Patel, you should hire someone better for that job. The woman, a white lady who called herself the manager, was rude to customers and acted like she hated her job. I didn't get her name. She even called the owner Mr Patel a liar. I'd fire her behind ASAP.
