The next morning, a staff member said housekeeping had received several complaints lately, which fit what I’d just experienced. After a long drive home from Florida, I found several obvious stains on the sheets when I went to bed. I reported it, but manager KT Patel was dismissive. I was given clean sheets and told to remake the bed myself, with no offer of another room or help from staff. Since I’d booked with a coupon, I was told my choices were limited and I could leave if unhappy. It was late, after an exhausting day of travel. A clean bed is a basic expectation at any price. This was unsanitary and handled poorly, and I wouldn’t stay at the Red Roof Inn in Corbin, KY again.

The staff were great, the room was clean, and I didn’t see any bugs, which mattered a lot after a bad surprise at another hotel on a previous trip. We stopped in late after checking reviews and deciding to give the place a try. The advertised free hot breakfast was a letdown: there wasn’t one, just a couple of mini muffins. Still, it’s an affordable, clean, pet-friendly place with amazing staff.

There are plenty of fast food places right around the hotel, about six or seven by my count, which is handy when you’re traveling. The rooms were clean and I enjoyed my stay. An actual breakfast would have made it a five out of five, but it’s a good hotel in a convenient spot.

The room was very clean, the decor looked great, and the staff were friendly. They accommodated my pet, and the rate was reasonable. There’s a safe smoking area outside, plus coffee, a laundry room, microwave, refrigerator, and hairdryer. A few things could be better: a larger in-room fridge, a grab bar for getting out of the tub, more soda options when the machine is out of order, and sturdier luggage carts. One cart looked very old and rusty.
