FairBridge Inn Extended Stay Cordele

There were flies all over the room, and I killed about 4 of them. The parking lot was nasty too. Inside, there were crumbs on the floor and in the drawers, water damage on the ceiling, and rips and tears in the chair and curtains. The room hadn’t been cleaned thoroughly. The pool shown in the Booking.com listing looked like it hadn’t worked in years. This feels like false advertising. I won’t book through them again or stay at this hotel.

The rooms are a decent size, but the prices are far too high for the quality and this area. It’s $375 a week in cash, $425 if you pay by card, and $85 for one night. They raised the price while we were staying there without telling anyone. There’s no breakfast or anything else that would justify those rates. The pool is green, much of the place is outdated and gross, and they’re doing construction on one side of the building. It looks like the same stuff Ramada left behind when they sold it. The owners aren’t pleasant people. The hotel across the street is definitely nicer and better priced. We stayed here for a while, though, and the lady at the front desk was super sweet. The housekeeping lady was good as well.

The front desk was great, and the pool area seems to be in good shape. My lady of 30+ years wasn’t happy with the cleanliness, though. She found the tub dirty enough that she wouldn’t drain the water after running her toe through the grime in the attached tub photos, so I had to do it. The floors hadn’t been vacuumed well either. For our drive through to South Dakota, the lowest rate started at $64 and jumped to just under $80 within seconds of confirming our booking.

We were grateful to have a place to rest for a few hours, but I’d sleep in the car next time. This was the only "hotel" with availability within 100 miles, and we needed a bed before continuing our trip. We didn’t end up using the shower. The lights flickered and made a shorting sound when we tried to switch them on; it took several attempts to get them to stay on, then they shut off 15 minutes later. The counter was filthy and the shower curtain was barely hanging on. The remote had no batteries, and since it was the only way to turn on the TV, we couldn’t use it. The noise would have been nice to have, though it wasn’t a huge deal. Outside were dirty mattresses that smelled awful. They said the place was under construction, which might explain them, but I’m not sure why they didn’t throw them away.
