We were glad we chose The Perkins House in Cornish, ME. The location made it easy to reach covered bridges, the Conway Scenic Railway, the Kanc Hiway, and lots of other places. Our room was warm and cozy, and breakfast each morning was amazing. Keith cooked the fantastic breakfasts, while he and Gretchen were both welcoming and personable. We had some wonderful conversations with them. Gretchen’s decorating stood out too: the yard and house were decked out for Halloween.

I couldn’t be prouder of my brother and his wife for the place they’ve created. The Perkins House feels like a labor of love, a welcoming retreat, and a shining example of Maine hospitality. Breakfast is a highlight in its own right, thoughtfully made, beautifully presented, and delicious. It’s the sort of meal that could hold its own beside anything a Michelin chef might dream up. Still, the gardens and house are hard to leave too: they’re lush, colorful, and lovingly cared for, with fresh seasonal touches from summer blooms to autumn details and cozy winter holiday décor. The B&B blends elegant charm with the warmth of home. It’s an easy, pleasant walk to downtown Cornish, where there are lovely shops, local restaurants like Krista’s, and that classic New England feel.

We found beautiful scenery, hikes, and parks just a short drive away, and it was an easy walk to the main street. A lovely spot for enjoying New England autumns. We had a wonderful two-night stay. The Perkins House feels like a home that’s been carefully looked after and spectacularly decorated, with 10/10 Halloween flair. Our room and amenities were comfortable and clean, and breakfast each morning was delicious and a delightful start to the day. Gretchen and Keith were wonderful hosts and made the visit enjoyable. We highly recommend it and hope to return.

Our family looks forward to staying in the Carriage House every year. It’s an experience we always cherish. The location is ideal in quaint Cornish, with locally owned shops and restaurants within walking distance. Gretchen & Keith have made The Perkins House feel like home. There are lush gardens, seasonal decorations, inviting living areas, a grand dining room, spotless bedrooms and bathrooms, and cozy outdoor spots for relaxing with tea or chatting with other guests. Their service and food are a real labor of love.

We stayed in the "Vintage" room. It was spacious but still cozy, with a very comfortable bed. The large shared bathroom next door felt luxurious, especially with its double sinks. The house was clean and inviting throughout, with antiques and thoughtful details. The library and sitting room felt both stately and comfortable, and breakfast was scrumptious and homemade. The wraparound porch, garden, and magnificent flowers made for a calm, peaceful setting. There’s also a raised screened-in porch off the kitchen where you can relax. You can walk to the town center for antique shopping or a meal at Christa's restaurant, and Sebago lake and the New Hampshire border are close by. Gretchen and Keith were warm, friendly hosts, and we felt at ease in their gorgeous historic home. We very much enjoyed our stay and plan to return. We highly recommend the Perkins House. 4.75 stars.
