Regency Inn

The beds were clean and very comfortable, and the TV was really big. The location was great too. But the door wouldn't open all the way, and there were no amenities beyond little shampoo packets. The shower backed up, and the toilet made such a loud noise after flushing that I couldn't use it for a middle-of-the-night pee without waking everyone.

Right by the water, with a great view and a prime location near gift shops, restaurants, the USS Lexington, and the Texas State Aquarium. The beds were very comfortable, the shower was great, and the staff were kind and helpful. We loved the place and had a great experience. It's a nice way to save money while still staying somewhere pleasant. Thank you, Regency Inn, for making our vacation even better. We're coming back next month for my birthday and will stay here again. You should too, you'll be glad you did.

The reservation mix-up made for a stressful check-in. I had booked the 5th through the 9th, but staff said it was somehow for the 19th. We did eventually get a room, but after just two nights, they took all our belongings out and left them outside, saying we hadn't paid for night three. That wasn't true. We'd paid $170 for three nights, plus a $50 deposit for our dog. While our things were being handled, my niece's AirPods went missing. When we raised it, we were told the cleaning staff member responsible wasn't available and they couldn't reach her. Nobody investigated or tried to resolve it. There was no organization, accountability, or basic respect for guests and their property. Removing our belongings without cause was unacceptable, and their response to the missing item made it worse. This was one of my worst hotel experiences. I'd strongly recommend staying somewhere else.

I called late in the evening with a very specific, short-notice request, and they were kind enough to offer us a room for a short stay at a reasonable price. The staff were polite, understanding, and quick to help. Our room was clean and comfortable too. I really appreciated the flexibility and service, and would recommend the place based on that experience.
