Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites Corsicana by IHG

The staff were friendly and helpful, and there were free cookies and popcorn in the lobby. The showers were great, with good flow and plenty of hot water. I didn’t get to use the pool, but it looked very nice and was popular with other guests. The rooms were clean and nice, though there were a few issues. The electrical outlets were loose enough to make charging devices difficult, and we were greeted by a large cockroach in the bathroom in the morning. The elevator seemed to struggle and didn’t inspire confidence.

We got no compensation for the bed bug bites, lost swimsuits, or the money we spent on laundry and detergent, even though the manager had assured us the stay would be free. We had used points for the rooms, and those points weren’t returned either. During the move out of the infested room, the children’s swimsuits were left on the bathroom door. The hotel offered to put the clean clothes in the dryer to kill any bugs, but told us to take the rest to the fourth floor and wash them ourselves. We had to pay to wash and dry our things, and detergent cost $4 each. My son, my two young grandchildren, and I were in the fourth-floor room. He woke up covered in bites, and when we pulled back the blankets, bugs were visibly crawling on the sheets. Thank goodness the children weren’t bitten. We went straight to the desk, where the manager asked if we might have brought the bugs in. We had to switch rooms quickly and at least ended up on the same floor. We’d rented two rooms and asked the woman checking us in if they could be next to each other or on the same floor. She said no without even looking, though the hotel wasn’t busy. One room was on the fourth floor and one on the second. A couple of the evening staff guys were great, but the woman checking people in was unfriendly, to say the least.

Tommy at Holiday Inn Express Corsicana made sure my daughter and I had everything we needed, and surprised us with an upgrade. He also gave us thoughtful breakfast suggestions. The hotel was affordable, convenient, and clean, with great amenities: free WiFi, a pool and spa open until 10pm, a gym, laundry room, and lots of hot breakfast choices. Thank you, we can’t wait to come back!

The staff were great, but we had a lot of small problems that need attention soon. There was no hot water or pressure in the shower, and neither the TV remote nor the phone worked. It was an okay stay despite all that.
