Kingsway Inn

The Kingsway Inn felt impersonal, and I missed the warmth of a more traditional hotel. For a family wanting comfort and charm, I’d give it just 2 stars, though business travelers or people into tech might like it more. The staff were friendly and quick to help. Check-in went smoothly, they answered questions, gave directions, and suggested family-friendly places nearby. That gets 4 stars from me. The room was clean and roomy enough for us, with USB ports and smart TVs. It looked sleek but didn’t feel cozy, so 3 stars for that. The location was hard to beat. We could walk to restaurants, shops, the conference center, and main attractions, which made getting around easy. Five stars for location. The technology was impressive too: keyless entry and tablet controls for lighting, temperature, and the coffee maker. My kids thought it felt like a sci-fi movie.

I only went in to ask whether they had a room for the night. The woman came out with, “What?!” Very rude.

The room reeked like an old smoking bar, and the sheets were stained. I tried calling the office for the Wi-Fi password, then used the office ringer, but nobody answered either time. For $80 a night, the customer service should be better. Honestly, the place isn’t worth $50. I’m surprised they didn’t ask whether I wanted it by the hour. I won’t spend money there again. I’d rather sleep in my vehicle.

The stay was pleasant, and $49.00 plus taxes felt fair. The room was very clean. They initially tried to charge me for my GSD, but dropped it when I showed her service animal credentials. The bathroom was a bit smaller than usual, though still usable.
