On our drive from Washington state to New Mexico, this was easily the best place we stayed along the way. The room was spacious, very clean, and charming, with a fridge, microwave, and decent-sized TV, which not many rooms had. There was also a separate table and chairs. The front desk attendant was pleasant and helpful. Don’t miss this motel.

The owners were kind and helpful, and my dog River was made very welcome. There’s a large park across the street where she could run, and the town is charming, with lots of nice little places within easy walking distance. We spent two nights here. The room was thoughtfully laid out, the bed was comfortable, and I liked the eco-friendly soap, shampoo, and lotion. It’s an affordable place I’d highly recommend checking out.

The air conditioning is my main complaint. It was loud at night and struggled to cool the bathroom and far end of the room, so if you’re traveling with a group, decide ahead of time who gets the spot nearest the AC. Otherwise, it was a very good stay for the price. The place seems newly renovated, with pleasant decorations, and the bathrooms were among the cleanest I’ve seen in a motel like this. The shower had plenty of room and came with lots of equipment.

We lived here for three years under two owners and four managers, and always paid our bills before buying food. People around town knew us and knew we paid. The latest manager, Tammy, who had already been let go before, has been rude, invasive, and harassing. I have more than 30 videos of her making demands and threats when we wouldn’t let her pry into things. She has told nearly everyone currently there that they owe about six months’ rent, including people I know do pay. She’s only been back for two months and can’t show any records at all, not even employees’ W-4s. For two years straight, she listed us as tax-exempt on payroll even though we never signed anything saying that, and it completely messed up our taxes. She also tries to add charges that aren’t in the paperwork. The internet might work for two hours in a day. Most rooms have mold under the floors because of terrible plumbing. In our three years, nobody ever checked under the floors or the whole attic, and the plumbing burst twice. I don’t know how they get away without inspections. Tammy talks about people to others when she knows nothing about them and is always condescending. She’s almost the most Karen-like person I’ve ever met. Stay at your own peril. You’ll leave less happy than you arrived. She also manages white eagle, quality inn, and a motel in Dolores. I wouldn’t recommend staying at any of these motels.
