National 9 Inn Sand Canyon

We arrived around 8 p.m. on January 1, and the room was freezing. We turned the window heater up to 86, but the air wasn't very warm. I layered up with pants and hoodies to stay warm. By about 1 a.m. the heater was finally putting out some heat, though still not much for winter. In the morning, there was no hot water at either the bathroom sink or the shower. I know it's a cheap hotel, but guests should have heat and hot water. I live off-grid and have both. The bedding smelled like it hadn't been washed after a man slept there. No heat and no hot water, so don't stay if you need those things. Bring a space heater, and don't count on a warm shower.

The rooms were nice and clean. Our microwave stopped working, but they replaced it with a good one later. Overall, a nice place for a family stay.

After a six-hour drive from central AZ, I was really happy with the room. It was spacious and very nice, though a little paint here and there and a new shower head could help. The pillows sound like a small thing, but they're the best I've ever slept on, and I still haven't found a hotel with ones like them. The man at the desk was extremely kind and ready to help. He even moved his own car so we could park our motorcycles safely right outside our room.

From the outside, you might not expect much, but the rooms are amazing. Ours felt very large, the beds were comfortable, and everything was exceptionally clean. The shower was hot with great pressure, and the cameras outside made us feel very safe. The staff were friendly and welcoming. I'll stay here every time I'm in the area.
