Quality Inn near Mesa Verde

The breakfast was delicious, and the woman on the morning shift was so welcoming. The gentleman at the desk last night was sweet too. This was our second stay at Quality, and I probably won't look elsewhere unless I have to. The rooms are clean and roomy, pets are welcome, and the price is affordable. If every hotel treated people this way, humanity would be better. Seriously, they're great.

I knew this place from before it became the Quality Inn. The room was decent for what it cost, and the woman at the kiosk was friendly when I arrived after hours. I hadn't checked in at a kiosk before, and there were a few small hiccups, but I got it sorted out. For the price, it's not bad.

The one lovely part of our stay was the breakfast attendant, who goes by "Grandma!" She was friendly, and the meal was good, especially the ice-cold orange juice and pork green chile stew with biscuits. Very Colorado, and she made our day. The room itself was a different story. It was tiny, with old, dingy furniture, and the mattress springs creaked all night on a thin metal base that vibrated if we bumped it. The room had a strong smell, maybe mold, cigarettes, or chemicals, and the linens were dirty. There was blood on the comforter, the towels smelled as if they'd been washed in a big load without detergent, and even the shower curtain smelled awful, like vinegar and bacteria. We brought our own bedding, pillows, and towels, thankfully. The pillows in the room smelled so bad we put them in a corner. I was also really nervous about bed bugs. Please deep-clean the rooms and linens. Manager, skip the scripted AI response and fix the cleanliness problems. I wouldn't recommend staying here.

The beds were comfortable, and the rooms were clean. Breakfast had both warm and cold options, and the staff were pleasant, even when I arrived late at night. It's a basic Quality Inn in a convenient spot, with long-term rates available and a nice TV with satellite channels.
