The kids jumped into a freezing pool because we didn’t find out until then that its heater was broken. A heads-up would’ve been nice. Everything else went well: the room was updated, the beds were comfortable, and the staff were great. The lobby had all sorts of treats, and breakfast was very good.

The hot tub being gone was a big disappointment. I’d paid extra because the hotel advertised a pool and hot tub, then found out the tub had recently been filled in. The staff only said, “Yeah, sorry.” Still, they were welcoming, and breakfast was nice. The room seemed clean, though its shower curtain wouldn’t stay shut because the rod was poorly designed. I stayed one night a few days ago and was mostly happy.

The beds were really comfortable, though the pillows felt a little small. Our room was clean and a bit dated, but it worked fine for us. We enjoyed the pool and hot tub, and the rocking chairs out on the front porch were a nice detail. Everyone was kind and pleasant from the moment we arrived until we left.

We’d booked a whirlpool suite, but when we checked in they said none were available, which threw off our stay a bit. The room itself was clean but quite dated, and the pool was fine. Despite what the pictures show, there’s no hot tub. Breakfast was the usual hotel fare, nothing special, though it was free. It’s an average hotel, but I’d stay at Country Inn and Suits again if I needed a place in Cortland.
