Econo Lodge Cortland Downtown

I found grime and stains on the walls and light fixtures, plus cigarette burns in one of the comforters. The Econo Lodge in Cortland is unsanitary, uncomfortable, and unhelpful to guests. I'll be reporting it to the county health department. A friend and I checked into our reserved room and spotted a cockroach on the curtains. I called the front desk, and a man said they'd send someone up. About ten minutes later the office called and the woman who checked us in asked us to come down to be assigned a different room. I declined. One cockroach likely means there are more, so I said we were checking out. As we loaded the car, two male employees stood outside the office watching us the whole time. It was uncomfortable. I reported the problem to Hotels.com, but their follow-up email said they couldn't help with a refund.

The non-smoking rooms smell like cigarettes, and when we told management about the bedbugs they refused to help. We didn't report it before checking out because bites from bedbugs can take a while to show up. Don't stay here unless you're desperate. It's bedbug heaven, and the bites aren't worth it. Management can be really rude too. I feel bad that I booked my family here.

They took $103 from me, then lied about it. They keep dodging my calls and won't talk to me, and they keep laughing about it.

The staff were argumentative and no help. Whenever we asked anything, even a small question, we'd get “can't help you,” and their solution seemed to be canceling our reservation. They also told us there was no other staff member available to speak with, even though several were there, and refused services listed on their website. Don't go here. You'll be left stranded with nowhere to go.
