Downtown motel

My husband and I stayed last week, and the staff were hospitable and accommodating, even though we checked out a little late. The reviews don’t do the place justice. Our room was clean and bug-free, and the linens were soft and cozy. We also had plenty of water.

For the price, Room 20 was a great value. It’s an older, basic courtyard motel, but the room was clean and neat, with AC, a comfortable bed, a hot shower, and a quiet atmosphere. There was WiFi, a microwave, and a small fridge, though I didn’t use those. The cable selection was basic, so don’t expect 600 channels. I didn’t need service during my stay, so I can’t rate that, but check-in and checkout were friendly and easy. There’s no bar, pool, spa, gym, or breakfast, so it’s mainly somewhere to sleep and shower if you’re not planning to vacation at the motel. Fast food and stores are nearby, Walmart isn’t far, and the old historic city is nice to see if you do some sightseeing. I’d stay again. At my age, mid-60s, I give it four stars since no motel is five stars.

I’m glad I stopped here. It was quiet, restaurants and bars were nearby, and the morning shower was good and hot.

The room itself was very good, and the staff were pleasant with no issues. I was disappointed that they came in during the day and turned off our AC, though I understand the effort to save money. The bigger problem was the lack of warm water. I’m here for three days and haven’t had warm water for showers or washing dishes, which matters a lot to us. There were also cigarette holes in the blankets and the smell of cigarettes everywhere. In my opinion, the place is definitely lacking when it comes to hot water.
