The Village Green

The gardens were the thing I couldn’t stop thinking about. There are 17 acres of beautiful, unusual landscaping, with whimsical touches and so much care everywhere. Paths wind through it, and little hand-painted mailboxes tell you which garden area you’re entering. I can’t even guess how many kinds of flowers they have. I saw sheds full of Christmas decorations waiting to go up, so I imagine it must be magical at Christmas. A groundskeeper was very sweet and told me even more about the property. I also liked that each room has its own enclosed patio overlooking the gardens, with access to the paths. The wedding area, gazebo, and covered patio were lovely. The pool and jacuzzi looked very nice, and there’s a great dog run. Our room was comfortable and roomy, with adjoining rooms available on either side and parking right outside the door. It’s not very expensive, either. I can’t wait to bring my kids here to explore. Thanks for a lovely stay.

We had to switch rooms because the heater in our first one wasn’t working, but they moved us quickly to the room next door. The staff were very friendly. We enjoyed walking the garden paths and seeing the fountains. Our room had a patio that I imagine would be especially nice outside the winter season. Live music in the lounge made for a great end to the evening. I’d recommend the place for a family get-together, since rooms can connect and there are gardens where everyone can spend time together.

The hotel room felt dated and needed a better cleaning. We found trash and a lighter in the couch, plus grocery bags behind the TV. The room was also very dark, perhaps because the light fixtures had such low-wattage bulbs. The grounds are beautiful, with wonderful gardens to explore. The meeting rooms looked lovely, and the staff stayed on top of everything we needed.

The pool and hot tub were wonderful, and we enjoyed a great dinner with excellent service. The restaurant felt a little dated to some, perhaps, but we liked it. We walked through the gardens on our way out, which was a lovely finish to the stay. My wife and I stopped for one night last Wednesday on our way home and were happy with our room. Everyone was friendly and professional. We’ve already recommended the place to friends and family.
