Baymont by Wyndham Grand Forks

The rooms were clean, stylish, and lovely, and everyone made me feel so welcome. Markie at the front desk kept things in order and was always smiling, while Karissa and Tonya, the housekeeper, were helpful and accommodating. I felt like a queen here. I really don't want to leave!

We come here when visiting our son in Grand Forks. The rooms have always been clean and comfortable, though the pillows could be better. Breakfast runs from 6-9:30 and includes a full hot spread, not just cereal and pastries.

My stay hasn't been great, though that's because of personal things and not the hotel. I was close to leaving a bad review, but Angelo's customer service really stood out. He greeted me warmly, responded quickly whenever I needed something, and never made me feel like I was a bother. That's rare to find these days. Great job, Angelo.

Once we got into the room, the stay was great. It was clean and comfortable, and after the first night there were no issues. The other staff were kind and helpful too. But the check-in situation was really stressful and nearly wrecked our birthday weekend. We'd driven three hours for my 18th birthday trip with my boyfriend, and only at the desk did we learn that guests had to be 21 to check in. That requirement hadn't appeared when we booked. The woman working sometime around 8-11 p.m. didn't offer suggestions or help us find a way through it. She said we'd lose our money because we were past the 24-hour cancellation window, and it felt like she wasn't willing to work with us. We were far from home, it was late, and we were panicking. Eventually my boyfriend's mom helped us check in, and a different staff member stepped in to get things sorted. The hotel itself was good, but it would've helped a lot to know the age rule in advance, especially since plenty of hotels let 18-year-olds check in. It was just that one woman. She had an accent and wore a hajib, which may help identify her. I don't mean that disrespectfully.
