Breakfast was filling, and the room was quiet, clean, and comfortable. There weren’t any bugs. It’s fine for an overnight stop, as long as you’re not expecting much else.

The staff were great, but I’ve had two bad stays here, and the hotel needs to deal with some basic problems. There was no cold water in the shower, just scalding hot water. The towels were dingy and need replacing or a better wash. The room doors also felt unsafe: mine opened when pushed, and I had to lift it to get it to latch securely. A lot of oil field workers stay here, and after a long day in the heat, who wants a hot shower and dirty-looking towels?

They never sent housekeeping to clean our room, then charged us because they said we were meant to clean it ourselves. Since when does a hotel leave that to the guest? If I wanted to clean my own room, I’d have stayed home. Completely ridiculous.

The desk clerk said the bathtub had been treated to make it less slippery. If that’s what caused the damage, the hotel should take it up with the contractor. Either way, that doesn’t explain the toothpaste splatter on the mirror, water marks on the vanity front, grime around its feet, or mildew in the tub grout. The bathroom looked neglected, and the tub was so corroded it belonged in a flop house. Some wear is normal, but most of this seemed like neglect and abuse. I stayed here a couple of years ago, and it’s shocking how fast the quality has declined. My room seemed okay until I saw the bathroom. It didn’t meet the standards of any hotel and should be checked by the local health department.
