Cobblestone Hotel & Suites - Cozad

Breakfast was a letdown. My daughter’s sausage was dry, the scrambled eggs were very dry too, and coffee was the one thing I enjoyed. The pool was cold as well. The location wasn’t ideal, though I could live with that. The hotel itself was decent, but the staff disappointed me: I asked at check-in for daily room cleaning and it never happened. They changed the towels and took out the trash only after I asked why no one had cleaned. I’ve stayed in big-city hotels for a lot less.

The room was spotless, the beds were comfortable, and breakfast still had plenty of choices even after the big 6 a.m. crowd. Everyone I spoke with at Cobblestone was so good to us. Shannen found us a room at the last minute and was really friendly and helpful. Kevin was cheerful at 6 a.m., attentive, and helped us that morning. I didn’t catch the maintenance man’s name, but he was polite and kind too. Just checked out and loved the place. I’d recommend it if you’re passing through and need a place to sleep.

The manager blamed the booking website when I called about the charge, refused to help, and kept talking over me. We’d chosen this hotel so the kids could use the pool, but on arrival the place looked unclean and we were told the pool was closed. That closure hadn’t been mentioned online. At the desk, we were told we could cancel without a charge, and they printed a receipt showing that. We drove two hours home, then later found a $205.20 charge. We paid for a room we never used and an amenity that wasn’t available, and got disrespectful treatment when we asked for help. Really disappointing.

Cobblestones are our first choice when we travel. We’ve stayed here several times, and the rooms have always been comfortable and clean. Breakfast is one of the better options around, and the employees are friendly.
