Hampton Inn & Suites Cranberry Pittsburgh

The room wasn’t properly cleaned. There were sticky spills on the bar counter, apparently coffee from the guest before me, and a used bar of soap left in the bathroom holder. I couldn’t make coffee because there were no supplies. It seemed like neither the bathroom nor the coffee area had been checked and cleaned or restocked. I ended up buying bleach supplies across the street and sanitizing the room myself. The elevator and hallway floors also weren’t as clean as I expect at Hiltons. They changed the bed and put out fresh towels, but that wasn’t enough. I rely on a hotel to thoroughly clean a room between guests, and that clearly didn’t happen here. I wouldn’t stay again. Management, please check who said they cleaned room 400 on October 24th and do unannounced quality checks on housekeeping.

The room was clean and the staff were nice, but not having a microwave in the room was a major inconvenience for me. I travel for work and usually rely on food from home or leftovers, and I’ve always had a microwave at the hotels where I’ve stayed. I expected one at a quality hotel like Hampton. There was a shared microwave in the lobby, but it was dirty, and the area around it was filthy.

The rooms and grounds looked clean and modern, and the staff were friendly. There are also plenty of restaurants nearby, with the hotel conveniently right off the highway. But the mattress was awful. I could feel every spring, slept badly, and woke up sore all over. I stay at Hilton properties for work about 110 nights a year, and this was the worst mattress I’ve encountered. I would’ve slept better in my truck.

My son was supposed to stay here for a hockey tournament under its stay-to-play requirement. The reservation had a 48-hour cancellation policy with no charge. We had to cancel for reasons outside my control. The stay was due to begin on 12/18, and I cancelled on 12/10, well before the deadline. I even called and was told there would be no charge. The hotel still charged my card for the full stay. I called to sort it out and left two voicemails for the hotel’s GM, but neither was returned.
