Courtyard by Marriott Cranbury South Brunswick

The rooms were clean and had a fridge, coffee machine, and microwave. I liked being able to adjust the TV depending on where I was sitting, and there was plenty of parking with several EV charging stations. Staff were pleasant, and the renovations have made this older Marriott much better. It’s in Cranbury’s industrial park, close to a number of logistics facilities. My main gripe was the restaurant downstairs: it doesn’t open until 6:30-7 in the morning, so you’re left waiting for coffee. A lot of hotels have coffee out for those dark, early starts. Still, it was a good stay overall, four out of five stars.

My family ended up waiting out on the street for a long time because the front desk didn’t help us. The employee I dealt with was Hindi, and she spent a lot of our time without trying to sort the problem out. I contacted corporate afterward, and they resolved it quickly and easily. That made it clear the issue could have been handled much better from the start. A hotel that says it provides good service shouldn’t leave guests in that position. The front desk needs better training.

The room was clean, but the thermostat was a hassle. It isn’t connected, so you have to reach under the newly installed cabinet and adjust the unit by hand. The shower had no shampoo either, just two bottles of body wash. Arriving was confusing because there was almost no signage pointing guests to the right entrance during the renovations. The front desk associate was rude and unhelpful, and we were talking about changing hotels before we’d even got out of the elevator. The poor planning and lack of attention to detail made for a frustrating stay. I’d look elsewhere before booking the Cranbury Courtyard. The place was disappointing from beginning to end and not what I expect from a Courtyard. I wouldn’t stay here again.

I expected more from a hotel with this name and reputation. The way the front desk handled things was rude, dismissive, and unprofessional, and I left extremely disappointed. When I first spoke to the person there, they seemed cold and impatient, with no real interest in helping. What should have been a simple service interaction made an already stressful situation worse. They didn’t listen or try to solve the issue, and it felt as if helping me was a burden and my problem didn’t matter at all. The lack of courtesy, respect, and professionalism was shocking. Customer service like this is unacceptable, and I didn’t feel guests were being treated with the care they deserve.
