Super 8 by Wyndham Crossville TN

I come to Crossville several times a year, but I’ll rent somewhere else next time. In room 210, there was a dried booger on the wall to the left of the window. Breakfast was minimal: watered-down waffle batter, stale cereal, terrible coffee, and nothing fresh, not even fruit. When I returned the second night, the room hadn’t been touched, and there were no clean towels or made beds. At checkout, the desk told me rooms aren’t cleaned unless you ask. My towels had been wet on the bathroom floor all day, and I only got clean ones after requesting them at the desk. I don’t know which is worse, the Super 8 Wyndham hotel or the Wyndham resort condos. Both have been awful on several visits over the years.

The rooms were clean, but the manager was extremely rude. He kept warning us that parties weren’t allowed, even though I had booked a room with my daughter for a wedding and the wedding party was staying there too. I don’t drink or smoke, so I didn’t appreciate being told over and over. Breakfast was cereal and waffles, and he kept explaining how to make them. He was also training a new employee and spoke sharply to her in front of us during check-in. He’s not suited to hospitality.

The room was average, but the carpet was so filthy that it left dirty crust on my feet. Breakfast was stale cereal and instant coffee, and the service desk guy in the morning was rude, going off on me about the 1980s waffle iron. They advertise free breakfast, but when you show up they want you to leave. If you’re on the first floor, the waffle iron timer keeps going off from 6 to 9 a.m.

The bed was comfortable, and I liked the room, bathroom, hall, and lobby. The bathroom needs updating, though, and the room needs better lighting.
