Sunshine Motel Near Atlantic City Airport

We’ve been sleeping on the same linens since March, and the only way our room gets cleaned is if we do it ourselves. There hasn’t been maid service since Vicky and the old owners left months ago. When I brought it up, Christy said, “we don’t do maid service at all here!” She was rude and nasty, and doesn’t know how to treat customers. The price is cheap, but the service is lousy. The owners are never around Saturday through Thursday, only showing up Friday when they’re looking to get paid. It feels like they take our money and run without providing any service. Couples on vacation wouldn’t like it, and I recommend not coming here. They don’t care about your needs, only the money. I’d like to go somewhere else, but we’re homeless and can’t afford to move around. I’d give it zero stars if I could.

It was cheap and there was a room available the night before. The outside looked nice, but that was about it. Inside seemed clean enough, though the bed looked very old and the room smelled musty even after we opened the windows and left the fan on, which helped only a little. It took forever to get someone to answer when I called the front desk. If you really need somewhere to stay, it’ll do, but the place needs a thorough cleaning and new beds.

The location is convenient, prices are good, the rooms are nice, and the employees are wonderful. I don’t smoke, but my room smelled like an ashtray. The owner walked me into it, noticed the smell, and moved me. They’re very strict about smoking: cigarettes aren’t allowed anywhere on the property, staff watch the surveillance cameras, and they can smell it from miles away. I saw someone get charged $250 for smoking in a room, so smokers should know they have to go off the property.

Thank goodness we only stayed one night. We’d booked a non-smoking room, but it reeked of smoke and had two ashtrays inside. The rug was filthy, like it hadn’t been vacuumed in a year, and spiders and webs were everywhere. The refrigerator didn’t work, there was mold on the shower curtain, and a dirty used washcloth from the previous guests was hanging over the shower rod. The price was reasonable, so I’m giving it one star. You get what you pay for.
