Culpeper Center Suites

The suite with a window was extremely spacious and clean, and I was glad this place had availability while I was in town. The mattress was firm, though, and a little uncomfortable. It felt strange arriving late without a concierge or front desk staff, and I had some trouble finding my room. I’ll stay here again next time I’m in Culpeper.

The people working here could not have been more caring, and they don’t deserve the management they have. Guests don’t deserve it either. I don’t care how luxurious the rooms are when the whole place is run by what feels like an inhumane AI web machine, as if no human contact is needed. There are three hotel locations and addresses in Culpeper, and figuring out which address I was meant to stay at was bad enough. Then I had to find my room without a front desk. As a tired 75-year-old man, that was more than I wanted to deal with. It felt like living in a Kafka kafkaesque novel. If this is the future, I’m glad I’m 75 and won’t have to live much longer in such an absurd world.

The large room was nicely furnished, and I especially liked the big bathroom. But not having any windows made me feel very uneasy, since I couldn’t see outside at all. The bed was also incredibly hard, possibly the most uncomfortable one I’ve ever slept in. We had booked two nights but left after the first.

We could walk wherever we wanted to go, which made the location really convenient. Our suite was clean, comfortable, and stocked with the basic amenities we needed. We were very pleased with it.
