Hampton Inn Cumberland

The room size was adequate and the bed seemed comfortable, but the furniture was awful. The toilet was very hard to flush and kept running. This place is about $50 a night too expensive. The Central hotel in Athens Ohio was outstanding, much better than this one.

After seven hours on the road, my friend and I stopped here for a “ladies fun weekend.” Tracy checked us in with a warm smile and was so friendly and helpful. The room was spotless, the beds comfortable, and the view of fields and hills was lovely. We also enjoyed the delicious breakfast in the comfortable, well-appointed lobby, lounge, and dining area.

The breakfast was a real meal, with coffee, tea, juice, scrambled eggs, biscuits and gravy, home-fried potatoes, oatmeal, yogurt, waffles, and all kinds of bread and bagels for toast. Staff were nice, too. The room was awesome and so clean that I didn’t feel I needed to disinfect everything, flip the mattress, or inspect the sheets as I might at other hotels. I felt very safe, and the shower head and bathroom were great. I’d recommend this hotel 100%.

We got in after 11 p.m. while passing through, and its interstate location was convenient. The digital key let us go straight to our room. I did need to stop at the desk to get the TV reset, but the attendant was friendly and fixed it right away. It’s pet friendly, with plenty of grass around the hotel and waste bags provided. I believe it’s a newer place, and the room and common areas were clean, in the condition I’d hoped for, and showed little or no wear. The morning desk and breakfast staff were friendly and attentive, the breakfast was good, and the area was clean with plenty of seats. Approved by both the people and our Golden Retriever, 5 stars.
