Traveling cross country alone with my 8 year old daughter, I booked this because Hotels.com showed 8.2 stars and said Applebee's was within walking distance. It is walkable, but getting across the highway felt unsafe, with no crosswalk and a blind curve. This was a terrible $100 to spend, and we won't return. I plan to post this on every booking site because I don't want another traveler caught by that 8.2 rating. The room smelled like stale cigarettes, and the in-room phone was broken when I tried to call the desk. Since the room had an outside entrance and the security latch was broken in two places, we slept with a chair under the door handle. A white towel had about six long black hairs woven into it, which made me suspect it had been used and folded back on the rack. The heating unit was also a mess. Even set to 62°, the room got so hot we woke up drenched in sweat, and the heater came on every 15 minutes, sounding like a freight train and a turbo jet together. The outside temperature was in the 40s, and we slept poorly. Customer service was average, and nobody asked about our stay at checkout.
