Courtyard by Marriott Cypress Anaheim/Orange County

Everyone working there was very nice, but the place was substandard, and we’ll stay elsewhere next time. The sink and tub were clogged and drained poorly. During our four-day visit I asked for housekeeping three times. Only after I stopped being polite about it did someone take the trash, make the beds, bring free room coffee, and leave clean towels. The bathroom wasn’t cleaned at all. The small bar looked nice, but it didn’t open until 5, and it was closed Sunday. We were on vacation and would’ve liked a drink before 5. The pool wasn’t heated either. It was freezing.

I’d probably spent about 50 nights here over the years because the location was convenient, but there are plenty of other Marriott and other options within a couple of miles. The few staff members I encountered were nice. After years with just one working lift, they made many upgrades in 2024-25, including new locks, a replacement for the sad-looking sign, and a general cleanup. My last stay ended badly, though. They added a charge for bottled water after checkout by mistake, weren’t apologetic, and left me to dispute it myself. I told them this review would be part of the dispute, and they didn’t care.

Everything is great here, from the clean rooms and laundry room to the weight room, pool, bistro, lobby, hallways, and elevators. Check-in can have a long line, but Ms Mavis handled it so calmly and cheerfully. She really stood out. Thanks to Mavis and the staff. I keep coming back and will always choose this hotel over the others. God bless! 🙏🏾🙌🏾🫶🏾

I came back late Thursday and found I’d been kicked out of my room, despite having a two-night reservation. No one knew where my things were, and it took an hour to get me another room. They eventually gave me the clothes I’d left behind in a big plastic bag in the lobby. My toiletries were missing and never turned up. Who sees a room full of clothes and personal items and assumes the guest has left, without even calling, texting, or emailing, then puts everything in a garbage bag? Earlier, the iron in my room didn’t work. I called for a replacement, but none came, so I went to a presentation in a crumpled shirt. The expired, curdled creamer finished off the morning. A horrendous experience.
