La Quinta Inn & Suites by Wyndham Houston Cypress

Ms. Ronnie at the front desk went out of her way to sort out problems with our reservation, and we’re grateful for her help. We had an excellent, clean stay in a convenient location for what we needed. We’ll be back in a few months.

I’ve stayed here a few times, as have my guests, and it’s a really nice hotel. The heated indoor pool and decent gym are good, and breakfast is tasty. The coffee is great, and the waffles are amazing. The bar is small but can still make the drinks you want. Tehra was especially sweet and kind, and made our stay more comfortable and enjoyable.

The room was clean and the location was convenient, but this didn’t feel worth $200. At 1 a.m., our key card wouldn’t open the door. We had to press the call button for a while before anyone answered and let us into the building. The person who came across was a little rude and seemed annoyed, saying she’d been “making her rounds.” The hotel was noisy too, with slamming doors, elevator tones, and people talking loudly in the hall.

The lobby and rooms were well maintained, and the snack shop had a good selection. Getting there in the evening was confusing because there’s no sign showing which parking lot to turn into for the hotel. Almost everyone in our group had to drive around for a while. None of the powered fitness equipment worked, which shouldn’t happen at this price. In rooms with only showers, the door setup is odd and turning on the shower valve sends cold water blasting at you. It looks like the shower doors were installed backwards. Breakfast was just okay.
