I missed the fine print and assumed, based on other places I'd stayed, that Agoda had charged all the costs. Then I found I had to pay a cleanup fee. That fee was supposed to cover a professional cleaner after my stay, and I was told the unit had already been professionally cleaned and inspected. But the kitchen sink was disgusting, and the ceiling fans had about 3 inches of dust built up. The claims about prior cleaning were false, and I feel scammed. Replying to the owner's response: I was texting with your worker after I posted this. We discussed my missing earring, but I've been ignored since. I also asked for a refund of the cleaning fee for the dirty room and was ignored. I wasn't asking for the hotel cost back, only the cleaning fee. Now that this has escalated, I believe I should be fully reimbursed, especially since I'll never get my jewelry back. Feeling helpless is awful. My sister said there may be legal action I can look into if this isn't resolved. This is not customer service at all.

The only good thing I can say is that the nearby park is very nice. We chose this place because it was close to my family, but it was a very bad experience and completely dirty. It wasn't hygienic for a 3-year-old. The sink was filthy, there were cockroaches, and the shower badly needed maintenance. The floor was dusty, sticky, and covered with dog and human hair, so my daughter couldn't walk barefoot. I bought bleach, a scouring pad, and dish soap to clean the dishes, which were already dirty when we arrived, and to wash what we used. They don't provide anything for you to clean with. We had trouble from the beginning because no one answered when we tried the access code, and it didn't work. From other reviews, it seems they may not change it regularly. They had to give us a key instead. Leaving the key and getting it back was another problem, since there was no safe place to leave it and no one answered. I don't understand the late check-in and early check-out times when the place isn't even clean.

This was a scam. We called for someone to come out, but nobody showed up. We spoke to people who had managed to get into their places, and they said they hadn't received any service at all. We tried calling to get into the residence, but they stopped answering. If you stay, I'd advise against it. They'll charge cleaning fees, or you won't be able to get in. I've added photos showing the reservation was actually for yesterday, the 6th, since the owner keeps replying that we'd been there for a few days. I also added a screenshot of my attempt to check in around 9ish that evening. As I said, this is a scam. The owner didn't reply or answer calls for two hours. I'm happy to post those records too.

CITYPLACE BNB: The unit was nothing like the photos. The floor, fridge, bedroom, walls, and furniture were all different. The TV was much smaller, and the supposed vanity mirror was broken. There were dirty dishes in the cabinets and dishwasher, and they left a foul smell. The sink faucet is broken too. In spray mode it leaks and sprays everywhere, and the screw on the handle that turns the sink on comes loose easily. It feels like they bought most things quickly on Amazon and renovated at the last minute, which makes me think they barely cleaned. There's no ventilation in the room or building, so the humidity is terrible. If you sleep with the AC on, it's freezing, but you still sweat once you get into bed. The building is extremely old and sits between a gentrified area. Definitely don't book here. Spend extra for somewhere better.
