We had to move rooms after rain came in through a badly damaged window. It soaked the sill, A/C unit, half the carpet, and our luggage beside the A/C. We told the manager about the safety concern, and he moved us quickly. The replacement room had the amenities we needed and they worked, but the bathroom sink leaked and sprayed water everywhere when turned on. Its A/C heating function didn't work either, so we had to figure out our own way to stay warm. The first room had plenty of other problems. The security loop had no latch, which made us uneasy. The microwave couldn't be used: it had no food tray and there was a disturbing brown sticky substance inside. Someone had left a chef salad in the fridge, and the kitchenette drawers had no cooking or serving utensils. There were only two lamps, so it was dim and dark, good for intimacy but not for seeing much. The rain outside got heavier and louder, so we turned up the TV. I pulled the curtains back to see what was happening and found water coming in. So much for a happy Valentine's weekend. 😞

The front desk staff weren't very efficient and could use more training. The furniture was heavily dated, and the pillows were flat with no extras available. The room needed a serious deep clean, including the phone and remote. At least the bathroom was clean, and the sheets felt fresh and crisp. Definitely nothing like the photos.

There isn't breakfast included, so keep that in mind. The room was clean, but the place was below par and needed maintenance. The kitchenette cabinets were coming apart, and there was no coffee maker or kettle. We couldn't get hot water for a proper shower or bath, and they blamed the cold weather. Really? It's Dallas in winter. They know it gets cold, so that was disappointing. The hallways and elevator smelled strongly of cigarettes. Do better!

They let me check in early, which was fine, but then I found the toilet was clogged. I reported it and got handed a plunger to pick up at the front desk. I asked them to send housekeeping, and they said they would, but nobody came. Four hours later I asked again, and Courtney was no help. She handed me towels so I could clean it myself. No one even asked if I wanted to move rooms. The service was awful and the customer service very rude. I won't come back. I can see why the place has a 2.5-star rating, though I think that rating is inaccurate. Good luck if you try it.
