The staff here are so nice, attentive, and helpful. The hotel itself was just fine, though. The rooms were clean and nice, but for a Westin I expected more. It’s a pretty basic place, with hardly any amenities: no coffee bar, a very limited snack shop, no hot tub, and a really small gym and pool. The restaurant menu wasn’t very extensive either.

Austin and Debora have been amazing through a very stressful situation. When I told them about my belongings, including important medical items, they went beyond their usual roles to help look for them. They’ve been supportive, compassionate, communicative, and clearly invested in resolving this. Their professionalism and empathy didn’t go unnoticed. They represent the hotel with care and integrity, and I truly appreciate their dedication and humanity. My concern is the housekeeping process after service in Room 2533. Several items weren’t properly logged, and most are still missing. From the circumstances, it seems only the housekeeper who cleaned the room would know what happened. Some of the missing things are medically important. I haven’t had my insulin pin for two days, which has been incredibly stressful. The housekeeping team needs retraining on lost-and-found logging and accountability so this doesn’t happen again. Austin and Debora are five-star employees, but the hotel’s process fell short. That’s why I rated the hotel three stars.

The location was very good and easy to get around on foot, and Roman was especially attentive with the valet parking. From the 26th floor there was a good view, and the room was quiet apart from occasional sirens. It did have some wear and tear: the bed lights were broken, and housekeeping missed a few things. The TV could use an update since I couldn’t stream on it. I didn’t eat at the hotel, but did eat at shops nearby, including ones downstairs. The bed was a bit firm, though the sheets and pillows were nice.

The indoor pool was a huge plus, and I enjoyed swimming there. Parking was only $38 for self-parking, which I appreciated, and the staff were kind and helpful. As a Gold Elite member, I was glad to get upgraded from a traditional room to a junior suite. It was large, with a comfortable bed. My partner and I were in town for the Lone Star NYE Reunion Tower event, and the lobby had a great view of it. The hotel does feel quite dated. The TV was extremely old, with only basic cable and no screencast, something I’d expect at a four-star hotel. The rooms could use a more modern look. The good location and inexpensive cost are pluses, though I don’t know if I’d pick it over other hotels nearby, regardless of price. That may not be a fair comparison since it competes with places like the Thompson and the Joule. If you want an inexpensive hotel in a great location, it’s a good option.

The rooms were roomy and clean, with great views of the surrounding area, and the gym was well equipped. For a large downtown hotel, parking was surprisingly easy and efficient.
