Crashpadz SF/DC

I checked out today. DC Crashpad is a hostel, not a five star hotel, and it has more amenities than many hostels and shared places. The house is modern, nice, and fairly well kept. Managers clean morning and night, while residents are expected to handle the common kitchen, bathrooms, and patio. Some do, some don’t. I had decent roommates, which helped. You can use the kitchen, but fridge and freezer space is scarce, so don’t buy too much food at once. A guest or manager also cooks a family style meal or barbecue a couple of times a week, and there are game and movie nights. Those can be fun if people don’t get too drunk. It’s about a 10 minute walk to BART station Colma and 15 minutes to Daly City. For the San Francisco area, it’s the cheapest place I found where I didn’t worry about safety or cleanliness. There are bunk beds, no private rooms, and your stay can depend a lot on the other guests if you’re there most of the time. Gossip can get toxic, so I’d avoid getting pulled into it. Showering can be a hassle during the day, but there are multiple bathrooms and it’s easier early or late. You get a nice kitchen, patio, location near shopping and transit, and easy parking if you drive. Keep receipts as proof of payment because I’ve seen people have issues. I’ve also seen theft, just shoes, but still, keep an eye on your things. If you don’t like the setup, you can pay $30-40-50 elsewhere and may give up some of these benefits.

It’s a really nice place to stay, kind of like a family home. The people are friendly and it’s always clean, with the train station within walking distance. The Manager DeMarcus is super chill and friendly, likes to shop, and is a future Hollywood star.

Everyone has been so welcoming and friendly. Check-in was really easy: I showed my ID, proof of payment, and the confirmation email. The house is spacious and open, and I’m so happy to be staying at DC Crash pad for a few days. I’d definitely recommend it if you want a fun place to relax and hang out, or if you’re traveling for work.

The house felt like home, and everyone I met was super friendly. SF Crashpad had everything I needed and answered all my questions thoroughly. It’s in a great spot between the airport and San Francisco itself. I’d definitely recommend staying here, especially for the affordable price.
