Our room still wasn't ready when we arrived at 5pm, and the receptionist asked how many towels we needed because the towels were still drying. Once we finally got a key, the hallway off the elevator was piled with dirty laundry. The room had no towels or toiletries, the bathroom door wouldn't close or lock properly, and the AC didn't cool right. We still had no towels when we came back from our event, so we called several times without an answer and went downstairs. The receptionist was nowhere around for about ten minutes. When she finally appeared, she argued after I told her we still had no towels and said they'd gotten behind. She gave me the GM's number and said they weren't under corporate because the hotel was privately owned. We shouldn't have to chase staff for basic necessities. We booked one night through Priceline because the hotel looked decent online, but the service was awful. Never again.

The staff were really pleasant, and the room was quiet, clean, and dark once the curtains were drawn. It's very close to the casinos. The toilet seat wobbled a bit and the tissue was a stretch away, but those are small issues given how much cheaper it was than nearby hotels.

It was one of the cheaper rates in Lake Charles, and you get what you pay for. The building is older and needs upkeep: several bulbs in my room were out, the elevator broke while I was there, and the window shades needed repair. Check-in took quite a while. When I called the desk to buy contact lens solution, they didn't have any. The location was convenient for the casinos, and the pillows were soft and the bed decent, so not everything was negative.

The desk staff were kind and accommodating despite a few room problems. The TV wasn't working, but they got it fixed. The phone still didn't work, and the AC was stuck at 60 degrees.

The elevator doors were dusty enough that someone had traced words in the dust, and the second room smelled moldy with a dirty tub and shower floor. My husband and I were there for one business night in winter, and the first room was freezing because the heater didn’t work. It also looked like the bed had already been slept in, with hair on the bed and toilet seat and poop still in the toilet. The front desk offered us another room, but the stay was still very unpleasant. Save your money. We definitely don’t recommend this hotel, which felt more like a motel.
