Holiday Inn Express & Suites Lake Charles South Casino Area by IHG

The location is ideal, with easy access to shopping, restaurants, and casinos. The place is clean, and the customer service is exceptional. Some rooms could use minor renovations, but we're looking forward to staying here again.

The whole property was clean and well maintained, with parking all over the grounds. Even at night the area was brightly lit, almost like being in a Big CITY. Most places have poor lighting, but this one was excellent. The Frontdesk Staff were friendly and committed to their work. Breakfast was complimentary with a wide variety of options. Near the Front Desk, a display showed the whole breakfast menu for Monday to Sunday, a fabulous display that says a lot about the property's commitment to customers. It was only a Night stay, but everything went smoothly from Check in to Check out. This was beyond my expectations, it really deserves 7 STARS. I'll surely stay here on my next visit to Lake Charles.

Check-in through the app made arrival quick, and the service was good. The room was uncomfortable from the humidity, which was ROUGH for someone from Missouri. It was late, so I just wanted a shower and sleep, but the room didn't really cool off or dry out until morning. The tub had a deep groove across the middle, and I almost busted my ass getting in. You kind of have to straddle the groove or stand in it. The bed was comfy, though the room wasn't very quiet. I had to extend my stay, and that staff member was not friendly AT ALL. I didn't try the brekkies or check out any facilities.

The room and breakfast were both fine. When it was time to leave, I needed to speak with someone at the front desk, but nobody was there. A kind maintenance gentleman tried to help, though he couldn't, and said, “everyone is gone.” I waited a long time for someone to show up for the front desk, and she arrived cranky. Very unfortunate.
