Budget Inn

The bed was extremely uncomfortable during our 10-hour break, with just two hard, flat pillows and stained, worn bedding. Room 106 was a king room, but there were towels for only one guest, and they were rough and stained. We had our own towels, so it wasn't a big issue. The bathroom also had no toilet paper holder. The floor looked clean, but my bare feet said otherwise, so I put on shower shoes. On the plus side, the AC worked well all night, water pressure was good, and the water got hot right away. There was a small fridge/freezer and microwave too. We called ahead to ask about a truck driver discount, which they don't offer, then walked over from the Pilot because we didn't want to idle the truck in the heat. We checked in around 2 p.m. and there was no complaint about arriving early, though the check-in area was so hot my husband had to step outside. There's a large lobby visible from that room, and it would be nice if guests could use it. Check-in took a while because everything was still handwritten. A notice said we had 10 minutes to inspect the room and report any problems. We checked the bed for unwanted guests, found none, and turned on the AC.

This is about as low as it gets. I heard there are trapdoors under the beds in seven different rooms. The other day, I spoke with a woman who said someone may have died a horrible death in room 104 a couple of years ago, maybe three. The cleaning lady now stays in 106, and she said 911 was called about a missing person in room 1044. That's when they found her, whoever she was.

The toilets were clogged, bugs and mold were in the rooms, and the lights didn't work. The TV was stuck on one channel and wouldn't change. Neither the ice machine nor the soda machine worked, and there was so much else wrong that I can't recommend this place.

I liked having a gas station close by and several dining options to choose from. The place is decent enough to stay in, but it wasn't very sanitary. My room's toilet and bathroom both needed work. I'd suggest giving everything a thorough clean before getting too comfortable.
