We had the place to ourselves during our December visit, since town was pretty empty. It was nice to spread out in the sitting rooms and dining area instead of being stuck in a hotel room eating at a desk. Wheeler's is right in town, so trails, shops, and restaurants are an easy walk away. Parking is on the street, but we found a spot right out front without trouble. The proprietors were friendly and courteous, and answered a couple of small questions as they came up. A great stay.

A handy stop to recharge on a hike. The inn sits on the Appalachian Trail, right beside the outfitter, diner and brewery. The diner had great food and prices. The owner will do laundry and provide shuttling.

Elizabeth and Pat made this another clean, comfortable, friendly stay. I only stopped for one night to split up the long drive to WV to see my kids.

The inn’s location in Damascus, known as "Trail Town USA," made it a great base for hiking and biking, with the Virginia Creeper Trail and Appalachian Trail nearby. I stayed at The Dancing Bear Inn in Damascus, VA, and had a delightful visit. The room was spotless and nicely decorated, and the bed made for a good night’s sleep after exploring. The innkeeper welcomed me warmly, and check-in was easy. They were also helpful with local information and ideas for activities and places to eat. This charming bed and breakfast has a lovely mix of comfort, hospitality, and rustic character. I’d happily return. The friendly welcome, comfortable room, and convenient location made it a great choice for a peaceful getaway or a trip outdoors.

We were hiking through and needed somewhere to stay, so we called several hostels in town. This was the only one that didn’t give us attitude for simply calling to ask. The owners were kind and clearly passionate about what they do. The Rose room was clean and comfortable, exactly what we needed, and the bathrooms were very clean with soaps available. They loaned us clothes and washed our clothes for us. I slept some of the best I’ve had on trail here. I can’t say enough nice things about the place. Thanks for having us!
