Hampton Inn Danbury

The hot tub was so good I could have stayed in it all day. Check-in was helpful too: they explained the amenities, and while I was at dinner someone texted to ask if I needed anything. I requested two extra towels and two pillows, and they were waiting in the room when I got back. Definitely a hotel I'd return to.

The staff kept the place in great shape. My room and the pool area were clean, housekeeping stayed on top of things, and the maintenance guys were polite. Coffee was always available and hot, and the included breakfast was pretty good. I also appreciated how friendly everyone at the front desk was. Getting around is easy, and there’s plenty of parking in back once your room key lets you through the rear door. A few restaurants and a bank ATM are just across the parking lot. The hotel is handy for getting on or off the highway either way. I saw people smoking outside, including marijuana since it's legal, but never saw a cigarette butt on the ground during the whole week. The property is well kept.

Clean room, comfortable bed, and breakfast was conveniently available. The service was great. My one gripe: a reminder near the door to close it gently would be useful. It's basic courtesy, but some people need the nudge.

The manager didn't offer any way to make up for the inconvenience when I raised everything at checkout, and I won't be back. The walls are so thin that the next room's toilets flushing loudly woke us at night. We were first assigned an adjoining room with noisy strangers, so we had to switch rooms for the second night. In the new room, the heating unit kept tapping at changing intervals and kept us awake most of the night. I wish I'd booked the nearby Courtyard Marriott.
