Wyndham Garden Ft Lauderdale Airport & Cruise Port

I had to leave another hotel after several bad experiences there, and I’m glad I found this one. The woman at the front desk was so welcoming and lovely. Sorry, I’ve forgotten her name, but I think she said Leena. She found me a nice quiet room where I could enjoy my last day in Florida. They have breakfast and a 24-hour airport shuttle, which some other hotels don’t offer. I’ll be back! :)

It was my first time in Fort Lauderdale, and I had a great experience here. The front desk woman was wonderful and gave me good suggestions for the evening. You can walk a few blocks and catch bus 4 to Dania Beach, where the beach is peaceful and has a great view. I won’t hesitate to stay here next time I’m in town.

We spent two nights here, one before and one after our cruise. The first room smelled like a dirty mop, and the pillows were damp and musty. We faced the main road, so traffic noise went on all night. On the second night, we got under the covers and found the bedding soaked. It took an hour after calling the front desk before we finally moved rooms. The new room was clean and comfortable. We also waited over an hour for the airport shuttle and eventually took a taxi. For what we paid, I expected more attention to detail and a faster solution. I wasn’t happy with the service.

We stayed here twice, and both visits were quite an experience. The water was yellow, which seemed kind of suspicious. They also rent rooms to people waiting for flights and such, and I’m not sure how well they turn them over. Staff seemed overwhelmed by the crowds, and the hotel overbooks pool day guests compared with people staying in rooms. The second time, our sheets smelled like sunscreen. Don’t count on early check-in, it was a joke. The airport shuttle is free both ways, but breakfast isn’t free. It’s basically a mediocre place to sleep before or after a cruise.
