Bestwestern Plus North Shore Hotel

I left my expensive dress shoes behind after a wedding trip and only noticed once I was already on my way home. I figured they were gone for good, but the front desk staff handled it wonderfully and shipped them back to me. Thanks again for getting them home safely. The hotel was super clean, and the staff were really friendly. The free buffet breakfast was decent, coffee was available in the lobby around the clock, and the WiFi was solid. There’s also a spacious gym, a pool, a walkout patio downstairs, and a small convenience area by the desk. I don’t usually write hotel reviews, but I’d stay here again if I’m nearby.

The room and the rest of the hotel were very clean and well run, and breakfast was good. We picked it mainly because it had an indoor pool, though, and only found out after arriving that repairs had closed it. That was disappointing, especially since the price was so good. I would’ve rated it five stars otherwise.

We spent a whole day swimming, and my son and I loved having the pool, though it could’ve been cleaner and warmer. The coffee bar in the lobby was another favorite. I’m picky about coffee, but theirs was delicious, and we enjoyed late night coffee and hot chocolate there. Breakfast had loads of tasty choices, and we tried four waffle flavors. The staff were wonderful throughout. One night some very rude guests started a hallway party, but staff dealt with it quickly and it didn’t happen again. The room was clean, which matters a lot to me, and the service was great. We’re planning to come back to MA in a year or two and already know we want the same room. We also found the location really convenient. Salem was only about a 20-minute drive, so we went there five times, and NH beaches were close enough for a visit too. Parking was less convenient. Most nights we ended up at the far end of the lot because there were no front spaces and the side spots were usually taken. Still, my son and I have traveled through many states and stayed at many hotels, and this was by far our favorite.

We went to MA to see the Witch City and picked the BWP because it was easy to get to Salem. No regrets. The service was exceptional, and we had a great time. If you’re coming from out of town, I’d recommend it to anyone who’ll listen.
