Sonesta Select Boston Danvers

We stayed just one night. Check-in and checkout were easy, the location was great, and the room was clean with a comfortable bed. The rooms are definitely dated, but that didn’t bother us. I was glad to have blackout curtains. Bring a sound machine. I’d consider staying again if we visit in the future.

The stay wasn’t terrible, but it wasn’t great either. The room had a strange, lingering sweaty smell, so we left the window open most of the time for fresh air. The door to the stairwell in the hallway was very loud, and we could hear it. There was no mattress cover, and the built-up fabric balls were noticeable. I cringed, then laid the extra blanket over the mattress and remade the bed, which seemed to help. I didn’t ask the front desk for a cover.

The room was very clean, the bed comfortable, and both front desk service and housekeeping were excellent. The location was convenient too. The sofa, though, was old, ripped, and saggy. The shower diverter was hard to move and didn’t direct the water up to the shower head properly. Breakfast was basic and cost extra. They’d impress me more if they had a buffet like Homewood Suites.

The bed was really comfortable, and the room was clean and very quiet. My only issues were the $5 daily parking fee and having to pay for breakfast. There was also a $15 early check-in fee, but they waived it.
