The bed was clean, but that was about the only good thing. Traffic noise was loud enough to feel like it was coming through my room, and the neighbors might as well have been in there with me. After a lousy night’s sleep, I went to shower and found no soap. I usually give small, family-run places a chance when they’re rated close to 7, but this was a disappointment, nowhere near a 6-plus hotel. It felt like a 3 at best. I’m pretty sure there are monthly guests, and some things seemed sketchy when I paid closer attention. I’d avoid it.

The constant noise would have been enough to send me elsewhere. The motel sits on US RT# 29, with traffic day and night, and just 150 yards from a busy Norfolk & Southern "duel set of RR tracks" that never seemed to stop. When we pulled in, there was a truck on JACKS in the lot and a guy doing a major project, so at first I thought I was at a garage. The place feels stuck in the 1950s. Apart from new flooring, it looks like it hasn't been upgraded since it was built. Calling it a motel is generous. This place is a toilet, and I couldn't find the handle to flush it. Keep looking, there are plenty of other motels.

I paid for a night, but the room was so disgusting and the heat didn't work that I left in under 30 minutes. The front desk employee said she "didn't know how to process refunds." I wasn't mean to her, just direct when I asked for my money back. This place was a roachfest, an absolute trash dump of a motel. DO NOT STAY HERE!

The bed was comfortable, though it had a few stains. The room had a whole jungle feel, with an impressive number of insects, including some very large cockroaches that seemed right at home. Sharing one room with hundreds of crawling companions isn't exactly a usual vacation experience.

For $160 for two nights, this was about $100 too much. Having to pay 25 cents for the ice dispenser was the last straw. I'm usually easygoing about hotel rooms if they're reasonably clean and comfortable, but this place felt more like a dirty hostel than a hotel. It looked like it hadn't been cleaned in years, and the "clean" towels had stains. The grounds were worse. We had two pet flies and a roach keeping us company for both days, and even taking a shower to feel clean came with a problem. I'd trust the bad reviews and stay well away.
