Pine Barn Inn

The room met our needs, though this isn't a luxury hotel. If you're going to Geisinger, the location is extremely convenient and there's a room discount. I was very pleased with the staff. They work hard to keep guests happy.

The restaurant meal was good, but the rest was pretty ordinary. The room was clean, though a little worn, and the bed was uncomfortable and squeaked a lot. I also wish the lobby had coffee or water available around the clock.

The front desk staff and the cleaning crew were all friendly, and we found the rooms clean and spacious with comfortable beds. My daughter and I stayed at Pine Barn Inn for her Geisenger interview, and the hospital is within walking distance. She has already stayed here a second time. The restaurant on site serves delicious food, especially the Brussels sprouts appetizer. There's also a great little coffee shack down the road, Happy Mug Drive Thru. Highly recommend!

Once we found it, our exterior-entry room was clean, quiet, and suited our needs. Breakfast in the dining area had good service and food at a reasonable price. The confusing part was getting checked in. The property has three separate buildings: one with interior-entry rooms like a Hampton Inn or Holiday Inn Express, one that feels more like a motor hotel with doors opening onto the parking lot, and a third for guest services and the dining room. From the street, the first building looks like the place to check in, but there aren't clear signs. I spent a while looking for the entrance, then realized the check-in building is at the back, toward Geisinger Hospital, up a small incline by a little roundabout. After a long day of travel, that was frustrating. With better signage, I'd have rated the property higher.
