Holiday Inn Express & Suites Daphne- Spanish Fort Area by IHG

After ten hours on the road, that bed felt heavenly. My family of four finally got a much-needed sound night’s sleep, and we woke rested for another full day of travel. The room was clean and comfortable. My husband and daughter enjoyed breakfast the next morning, and the coffee hit the spot too. We didn’t eat out, but there are plenty of nearby restaurants, including Cracker Barrel.

My first stay at this HIE, and I’m glad I picked it. The staff were outstanding, and it’s a really nice hotel. Being right off I-10 makes it easy to get to. It’s also at just the right driving distance for me when I leave the Dallas area on the way back to Florida, so I’ll return.

I was on a road trip and had navigated here because I like Holiday Inn, but my 5 pound Yorkie was with me. The fine print said pets weren’t allowed, so I booked a nearby hotel that accepts them instead.

I’d stayed here a couple of times before without any problems. It was comfortable and clean, with a good breakfast and a good location. This visit left me disappointed, though. A washcloth from a previous guest dropped from the shower curtain rod when I closed the curtain. It had been hung there and was tucked between the folds, waiting to ambush an unsuspecting naked guy. The elevator sign says quiet time is 10 pm to 8 am, and they mean it. At 8 am on Saturday, housekeeping carts started slamming and bumping around the elevator, right by my room. Then came pounding on doors, vacuuming, and more noise. Sleeping in wasn’t an option. I’d planned to skip breakfast to get extra sleep, but since that didn’t happen, I ate instead. Breakfast was good.
