The room was nice and large, but it could have been five stars if things had been repaired. There was a hole in the floor beneath the carpet, lines across the TV picture, a missing smoke alarm and lampshade, broken outlets, and a faucet that leaked.

We’ve stayed here for the Battleship 12K run for about four years, but the facility has declined a lot over the past year. The check-in staff were kind and helpful, yet the lobby and room floors were dirty. The shower and tub had mildew in the grout and soap scum, and there were urine stains around the base of the toilet. Our hair dryer didn’t work, and the room smelled stale and moldy. It looks like there’s been little upkeep or updating for years. We’ll need to stay somewhere else from now on.

We only needed a quiet, clean bed while our RV was being repaired, and this place didn’t deliver either. We arrived at 6 for the advertised 6 a.m. breakfast because we had to leave early, but staff said breakfast wouldn’t be until 6:30. They wouldn’t let us wait in the lobby or have coffee because they were cleaning. One staff member told us to report it to the manager, as if the manager would care even less. The experience was rude and unpleasant all around.

Ratchet. I paid $70, and if I could get it back and do the stay over, I’d have gone across the street. The facility wasn’t even clean. When I arrived, a loud group was smoking weed out front, though they were friendly, and my room itself was fine. The third-floor ice machine didn’t work. At breakfast, there were no cups, just bagels and make-your-own pancakes, plus a few packs of grits. I’d taken things to my car earlier, and by the time I came back, the grits were gone. There weren’t any bowls, either. The front desk employee seemed to be making herself a pancake while confronting another guest and threatening to ban him, claiming he’d gone into the pantry weeks earlier and that she had photos, which she didn’t show anyone. Whenever I went back to the lobby, nobody was at the desk. Maybe she was fired. I certainly would have.
